In the mid 1970s I began a series of drawings with collage. It was an unexpected deviation from my past pre-occupations.

 

I began to explore the variety and beauty of wood grain. I found that each piece of wood was unique and seemed to evoke a different image.

 

Each drawing measures H 72 cm x W 56 cm.

These drawings led to a series of paintings with assemblage.
